Payroll Assistant - Calgary, AB (YYC)

Central Mountain Air is proudly emerging as one of Canada’s leading regional airlines. As we continue to expand, we are currently seeking an experienced Payroll Assistant to join our dynamic team based out of Calgary, Alberta. Join us and be a part of a dedicated group committed to excellence in aviation. In this role, you will support the Payroll Administrator in processing payroll, maintaining employee records, and ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of bi-weekly payroll for employees.

  • Maintain accurate payroll records and employee files.

  • Verify employee timesheets and attendance records.

  • Calculate and process payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, and garnishments.

  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues and discrepancies.

  • Assist in the preparation of payroll reports and audits.

  • Support the Payroll Manager with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in accounting or related field preferred.

  • Previous experience in payroll processing or a related field is a plus.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

  • Familiarity with payroll software and systems.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
