We are currently seeking a full-time Technical Records Specialist to join our team at our Calgary, AB base. The Technical Records Specialist Specialist is directly responsible to the Maintenance Control Coordinator. The main purpose of the position is to maintain accurate and current aircraft records. The Technical Records Specialist is responsible for the organization, maintenance, and accuracy, as well as the safekeeping of all company aircraft Technical Records. This position shall work within Central Mountain Air and its related entities as part of the Corporate Services Function.

Job Description

  • Transcribe data into the Aircraft Tech Logs.

  • Perform the daily audit and verification of journey logs and work completed documents.

  • Transcribe data from journey logs and work completed documents into the maintenance tracking computer systems.

  • Perform the daily audit and reconciliation of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance items.

  • Audit and verify maintenance task projections in the computer maintenance tracking systems currently in use.

  • Enter daily and weekly flight times into a spreadsheet.

  • Prepare engine asset reports.

  • File and maintain all technical documents.

  • Assist in aircraft imports/exports, including aircraft systems loading.

  • Review part changes, validate HT part changes, update and maintain HT files.

  • Organize, scan & archive all A/C documents.

  • Update and maintain AD/SB Electronic lists and associated files.

  • Issue alert corrections to respective engineer / aircraft.

  • Filing and maintaining hard copies and digital files of maintenance documents.

  • Produce month-end reports.

  • Accurately maintain aircraft records inventory status for both on site and off-site records.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in Planning and Records, as well as stakeholders in other departments to ensure service level is achieved.

  • Demonstrates an understanding of safety issues and actively support the Safety Management Systems program as required by Transport Canada.

  • Actively promote safety and quality within the organization and department by encouraging employee participation in SMS and ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders.

  • Comply with all SMS and safety policies, processes and standards.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Technical Records Supervisor or delegate.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, with an aptitude to learn other relevant applications and technical/office equipment at an intermediate level.

  • Ability to multi-task and meet multiple and/or unexpected deadlines in a demanding environment.

  • Demonstrate sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive matters.

  • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and numbers tracking.

  • The ability to accurately input high volume work with a keen eye for detail.

  • Organized with good time management skills.

  • Able to work independently and within a team environment.

  • Promotes a culture of safety.

  • Maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions

  • Availability to work irregular and on-call hours with a workload that fluctuates based on executive and company priorities and timeframes.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, post-secondary education preferred.

  • Experience in an aviation or FBO Environment.

  • Complete company training course and have successfully completed a qualifying exam as directed by the Maintenance Management.

  • Understand the appropriate parts of Maintenance Policy and Procedures Manual.

  • Basic knowledge of CARS and TC legislation as it relates to aircraft records.
