Aircraft Maintenance Base Engineer - Vancouver, BC (YVR)

We are presently looking for a full-time, licensed Aircraft Maintenance Base Engineer to join our team in Vancouver, British Columbia. This position is responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations at the Vancouver base. Reporting directly to the Director of Maintenance, the Base Engineer leads a team of maintenance professionals and works closely with the Quality Assurance Manager to ensure adherence to regulatory standards, inspection protocols, Aircraft Certification, and Aircraft Certification Authority (ACA) requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise, direct, and coordinate the overall maintenance activities of the base as assigned in accordance with the company MCM.

  • Provide effective communication between departments to maintain the aircraft with a minimum of downtime.

  • Apply and enforce the policies, procedures, requirements, and specifications established by the Company Safety Program, iSMS, manufacturers instructions, and the Canadian Aviation Regulations

  • Monitor and control the effectiveness of labour.

  • Plan and schedule the workload on a daily basis to ensure that the required tasks are accomplished.

  • Liaise with the Production Department to coordinate the work-scope for upcoming maintenance tasks.

  • Ensure the hanger work area is maintained in a safe, clean, and orderly manner.

  • Establish, maintain, and enforce paperwork standards for maintenance personnel, in coordination with the Quality Assurance Manager.

Job Requirements

  • Transport Canada Certified AME License M2

  • Minimum of 7 years working on aeroplanes in a commercial environment

  • Ability to legally work in Canada.

  • Must be able to obtain and retain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)

  • Ability to legally work in Canada.

  • Flexibility and willingness to work irregular hours to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Able to perform well under pressure, comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights.

  • Safety orientated.

  • Ability to repeatedly lift 50 lbs.
