Senior Maintenance Manager - Calgary, AB (YYC)

As we continue to expand, we are excited to invite an experienced Senior Maintenance Manager to join our dynamic team based out of Calgary, Alberta. Reporting directly to the Director of Maintenance, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of all maintenance activities at all Central Mountain Air bases, ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency for our valued customers. This technical position requires significant industry experience and a strong understanding of the Canadian Aviation Regulation in regard to all Maintenance activities.

Job Description

  • Support the maintenance control system for Central Mountain Air’s fleet of DHC-8’s, Dornier 328’s and B1900D’s.

  • Maintain compliance to Central Mountain Air’s Safety Management System (SMS), Maintenance Control Manual (MCM), and Maintenance Control Procedures (MCP) policies and procedures.

  • Authority for this position includes full authority to remove aircraft from operational status; Flight Permit signing authority; Tolerance approval authority; and Minimum Equipment List (MEL) extension approval authority.

  • Accountable for managing employee performance reviews.

  • Assess and allocate resources / manpower accordingly ensuring projects have necessary resources to maintain timelines.

  • Assist in the review of applicable AD’s and SB’s for possible implementation.

  • Provide technical assistance related to recurring defects and reliability.

  • Report to the D.O.M. accurate and timely project progression reports.

  • Oversight and coordination of Major Repair and Modifications and associated paperwork distribution.

  • Coordinate heavy maintenance visits (HMV).

  • Support for SDR submission.

  • Actively participate in the Company’s Safety Management System program.

  • During absence, these responsibilities may be appointed, subject to acceptance of the Director of Maintenance.

  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by the Director of Maintenance.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

  • Valid AME M2 license required, with a minimum of five years of experience on DHC-8 and /or Dornier 328 experience.

  • 5 years of supervisory experience in an aircraft maintenance capacity.

  • B1900D experience an asset.

  • Must be able to obtain a Restricted Airport Identification Card (RAIC).

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

  • Proven time management skills and strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work well individually as well as part of a team.

  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.

  • Strong decision-making skills.

  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, meeting constraining deadlines.
