21 years
What inspired you to pursue a career in aviation?
I wanted a career that was challenging and exciting, never a dull moment. I found that in Aviation.
Can you share a little about your journey into the aviation industry?
While living in Vancouver, I took a Travel and Tourism course, my first thought was going into Flight Attendant Training. However, when I was doing my practicum at a local Travel Agency, we did a lot of business bookings for CMA. So, when I saw an opening for CSA, I applied. And the rest you can say is history.
How have you seen the aviation industry evolve for women over the years?
When I first started at CMA we did have a lot of Female Pilots, more so than now. I have seen those ladies go off and accomplish great things and break all kinds of gender barriers
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned in your aviation career?
Just when you think you have things figured out, something changes. This is why I love it so much. Always changing and evolving
What advice would you give to young women considering a career in aviation?
Stay confident and reach out to other females in the industry. Gain knowledge from their success, and look to them for support and mentorship.
